ABOUT

I’m Kevin Armstrong, framebuilder and owner of Six Mile Bicycles Inc.

Cycling has been a lifelong passion for me. Whether commuting while living in Toronto, solo cycle touring down to San Francisco, racing road bikes or gravel and mountain biking in the BC Interior - I think it’s generally a pretty wonderful pursuit.

I grew up working in my father’s high-end classical musical instrument repair shop in Toronto. There is a unique attention to detail and a persistence that I believe that I developed working there, but it was also a joy to work with people who really cared for their instruments. I find there is similarity between how musicians feel about music heir instruments being vehicles to enjoyment and how cyclists feel about their adventures with their bikes.

I trained in bicycle frame building by learning from esteemed frame builder Andres Arregui-Valesques at his school Escuela Técnica de la Bicicletta in Madrid, Spain. I found Andres’ unique and thoughtful approach to building frames, and attention to detail inspiring and is a quality I strive for in my work.

My goal with Six Mile Bikes is to build bikes that are durable, and purpose built. That may included performance features, or more utilitarian. I believe that depends on the application and end goals of my clients. I want people to use my bikes to seek out new adventures, travel to far away places, and experience the world in a way they didn’t before. If my bikes are a part of that, I’ve done my job.

I’m proud of what we are creating for our customers and look forward to building your future ride.
